Fatherlessness is an Epidemic – But the Father Hasn’t Left Us

6/5/25, 5:00 PM
God is raising up fathers through His Church. And every time one father is restored, a generation is changed.
We don’t talk about it enough.
But fatherlessness is one of the greatest epidemics of our time.
It doesn’t make headlines.
It doesn’t trend.
But it’s tearing families apart in silence.
When a man grows up without a father—without someone to affirm him, guide him, correct him, love him—he often spends his life chasing shadows.
He’s more likely to battle addiction.
To struggle with employment.
To collapse under the weight of a relationship he was never shown how to carry.
To feel like he’s failing… simply because no one ever taught him how to win.
At CareNetworkCR, we recently met a man like that.
A man who wants to be a good father, but never had one himself.
A man who has been clawing his way out of poor choices, barely holding on.
But here’s the beautiful part: the story doesn’t end there.
He reached out.
And because of the incredible network of churches we work with—this man has now been paired with a male mentor.
Someone showing him what it means to be a father.
To lead with courage.
To walk in grace.
To follow Jesus.
He’s learning—finally—the skills he should’ve learned as a boy. He’s being discipled. Encouraged. Corrected. Built up.
And through CareNetworkCR’s verification process, we were also able to meet his physical needs—from food and transportation to job employment support.
This is what the love of the Father looks like in action.
Not distant. Not passive. But pursuing. Providing. Healing.
God is raising up fathers through His Church.
And every time one father is restored, a generation is changed.
If you’re reading this and you’re struggling—if you feel like you’re failing—hear this:
You’re not too far gone.
There’s a Father who’s been chasing you all along.
And we’d love to walk with you.
Because no one should have to walk alone.
